These images are a hole in the wall of my everyday experience. Through them I can see a structured systematic city in a circus mirror. In office doors and car windows the world begins to fragment and distort, time and common-sense disappear. In puddles the world shimmers and ripples with the wind, buildings bend and sway downward. A city that was once rigid and logical becomes flexible and carefree. Meticulously organized streets now become chaotic and expressive. This process, for me, is not one of creativity, but one of deconstruction. It is a process of discovering the truth that exists beneath the man-made world of logic, values, and pre-conditioned ideas of what is real.
These images are part of a larger series available in an upcoming book.
